Pins and needles that arrive without reasons and stay without permission. That is fibro at work.
📍 Everyone knows pins and needles. Sit on your foot too long, feel the static, shake it out, gone. Now imagine the static arriving whenever it likes, staying as long as it wants, and needing no reason at all.
That is the version we live with. Not the innocent thirty second tingle, but an uninvited guest that shows up in your hands during dinner, in your feet during a meeting, sometimes in both while you are doing absolutely nothing that could explain it.
The no reason part is what makes people doubt us, and sometimes doubt ourselves. Surely something must have caused it, they say. But that is precisely the nature of fibromyalgia. A sensitized nervous system can generate sensations without any outside trigger, tingling included. The absence of a cause is not evidence against the symptom. For fibro, it is practically the signature.
🤍 So the next time the static arrives from nowhere, remember you are not imagining it and you never were. Note it, breathe through it, and carry on with your day as best you can. And if the pattern ever changes sharply, mention it to your doctor, because your body deserves both belief and proper attention. Always both.
Where does your uninvited static most often show up, hands, feet, or surprise locations? Comment below, let us map this thing together.
